The Constitution of the United States of America

PREAMBLE

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

These five words mean something but they each hold a different meaning. “Form” means to put together and in the case of the Constitution, “Form” a more perfect Union. “Establish” justice means to put together a system of laws very specifically defined as not to be misunderstood. “Insure” means to guarantee, to assure that there shall be domestic tranquility. “Provide” means to make available as a Father provides for his family. The Constitution will provide protection from all enemies. “Promote” means to encourage the wellness of its citizens and not prohibit ones own general welfare.

Article One, Section One:

All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.
